How does your business help entrepreneurs and professional women?
After 20 years of marketing big brands and small businesses, I have an uncanny ability to pinpoint after hearing a 15 second self intro why a business isn’t growing faster. Typically it’s because most businesses don’t know who their IDEAL client is. Other times it’s because their message isn’t clear about HOW they help their clients. I help clarify those things that are essential to your strategy. Without a map, you can have the fastest and most expensive yacht in the harbor but you wouldn’t know how to get to your finish line. I help you draw that map.
I am a huge believer that women need to start using themselves in their marketing in a big way. I see women business owners who refuse to use their pictures in their social media profile or on their website. I see women refuse to blog about their thoughts. I see women refuse to use their personality in their marketing. Worse yet, I see women who refuse to talk about their WHY because it’s too shameful or personal. I feel that it’s my mission to help remove the vulnerability of exposing who we truly are and stepping into our authenticity as business owners! (stepping off the soapbox now!)
What do you hope conference attendees will take away from hearing you speak at our conference?
At the brainstorm session, I won’t have a lot of time to impart my pearls of wisdom but I hope to be able to communicate the importance of having a niche and in fact, of having the RIGHT niche. You can’t just pick it like throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing if it sticks. You have to be strategic about it! I’m so excited for this brainstorm session!
What is your favourite business tool
My personality. I think it’s any businesses’ secret weapon that they often choose not to use. There’s no marketing coach who is exactly like me. Who is a little zany, a little corporate, a little spiritual. No body can think exactly like me and if I don’t use that in my marketing, how exactly will I differentiate myself? I encourage you to unpack your personality and stop hiding behind generic marketing for your business now.
What is your favourite business book?
I come from an immigrant family who saved and scraped and where money was pretty much always a stress. When I learned to make decisions based on brain files of more successful people for my biz, my business tripled in 1 year.
