A big welcome to Leslie Hughes from PUNCH!media. Leslie will be one of our panelists at the upcoming event "Building Winning Websites" – coming up on April 28th. It is going to be hugely informative for those starting a new site, or those whose sites need a good spring cleaning and upgrade!
PUNCH!media specializes in Social Media strategies and solutions to build buzz for your business.
We help you to leverage platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogging etc. to connect with your existing audience and generate additional exposure.
We love to present seminars, to help businesses set up their accounts, to coach them on how to use advanced tools and (if need be) we also can manage accounts on their behalf.
2. Other than being an entrepreneur, who are you? Tell us about yourself.
I’m a proud Mom of a 4 year-old boy, happily married to one of Mantrackers "prey" and regularly stalked by my Wheaton Terrier, Harley.
In my spare time, you’ll usually find me connecting on Twitter or reading up on the latest changes in Social Media.
3. What motivated you to go into business for yourself?
My business background included working in sales and marketing for amazing brands such as Visa Canada, FASHION magazine and WEDDINGBELLS magazine. I started a business called Diaper Disco. Twice a year I rented out a nightclub during the day to run a family dance party and raise money for Mount Sinai Hospital’s NICU.
To promote the events, I used my experience working in traditional and online agencies and I realized early on how important Social Media was becoming in the overall marketing mix. With funding and training from Ontario Self Employment Benefit Program (OSEB), I started PUNCH!media.
4. How do you overcome challenges and obstacles in your business?
I often reach out to my mentors and collaborate with my Mastermind group to discuss challenges and solutions.
5. What are your greatest strengths as an entrepreneur?
Passion: I’m passionate about helping my clients achieve success and I’m passionate about all forms of media.
Morals: I treat my clients the way I would expect to be treated.
Determined: "There is no failure; there is only feedback" ~ R. Bandler
