Medicine Song Woman Brenda MacIntyre, creator of the Sacred Feminine Success Path Certification Program, is a goosebump-giving Juno (Canadian Grammy) Award-winning singer, speaker, spirit-led mentor and indigenous shaman.
After many years of being terrified of being seen and heard, and suppressing her spiritual gifts, Brenda is passionate about helping spiritual women entrepreneurs to find their voice, OWN their gifts and create and sell exceptional signature services that make a lasting difference in the world.
Painfully shy and introverted into her teens, Brenda let her passion for singing lead her onto the stage and by the age of 20 she was a rap artist on Top 40 Radio in Miami.
Hidden behind Brenda’s enigmatic success was a cycle of toxic relationships that landed her in an Aboriginal healing lodge, where a Navajo medicine woman recognized Brenda as a healer. Since then, Brenda’s mentorship, healing, training, speaking and singing has helped thousands of women around the world to find their voice.
Brenda has shared her magic, mystery, laughter, leadership and soul on MuchMusic, APTN, CTV, CP24, Global, Vision, CityTV’s Breakfast Television, OMNI, Rogers and TeleLatino Network, as well as CBC Radio and CFRB FM. Her music has been featured on CBC and hundreds of other radio stations, garnering top ten status multiple times. She has appeared live across North America and shared the stage with best-selling authors Dr. Emoto, Shakti Gawain and Gregg Braden.
In her spare time, Brenda can be found in the middle of a belly laugh, ecstatic dance or on a midnight walk with her teenage daughter.
Tell us about your business
I help spiritual women entrepreneurs (or spiritpreneurs-in-waiting), who are blocked about being paid well for services, or who need support in stepping into the next level of expression of their gifts to:
• Find their physical and spiritual voice with their sales, speaking and networking (being seen and heard).
• Increase their confidence with sharing their most powerful gifts.
• Develop the ability to work with healing energy and sound, so that whenever they speak, have a sales conversation, network or do a client session, their voice is “medicine” for people.
I also provide interactive drumming/singing/confidence-building presentations at conferences and other live events for healers and entrepreneurs. I’m a Juno Award-winning singer and have presented in front of audiences of up to thousands of people over the past 30 years.
How are you hoping to connect with conference attendees?
Connection. Mmmm. that is one of my favourite words and acts. I connect with people on all levels: through my voice, heart, inner power and spirit. I LOVE to connect with people on a meaningful level and offer value through that connection. From the stage, in a breakout session, or in a casual conversation, I connect with people in the same way… although when I sing, I connect with people in such a deep way that I’m able to reach them in places inside they didn’t even know were there. That’s why my Aboriginal name given to me by an elder is Medicine Song Woman.
What advice would you give conference attendees?
To be successful in creating a beautiful ripple effect on the community and the planet through your business, non-profit or initiative, you need to bring confidence, energy and the true power of your voice into those important decision-making conversations or when you’re speaking, so that people not only can HEAR you but FEEL you and GET you as well as feel a a CONNECTION with you. It’s not about being the loudest or most aggressive voice in the room. It’s about using your voice to connect you with your heart and soul first, and then connect yourself with others at that deeper level. Then the relationships you build with people become meaningful and memorable, and you get to make a difference just by showing up and speaking your truth.
